Artizans Of India

The Story of Artizans of India

Everything has a shape, but to understand exactly what shape it has, a person should have an artistic mind. While creating art, an artist uses all kinds of shapes which can broadly be divided into two categories (i)  geometric shapes (ii) biomorphic shapes. Geometric shapes are regular, like squares, rectangles, circles and triangles. These shapes are mainly a part of a man-made creation. while biomorphic shapes are found in nature, one will find them in leaves, clouds, flowers, etc. These shapes are usually irregular.

Vishendra N Singh is an Indian artist, who loved to explore everything around him, with the help of this trait he mixed geometric and biomorphic shapes. In his artistic career, he developed a new form of art-making: Artizans of India. His art form is a detailed description of different geometric shapes and sizes depicting a combination of the modern and ancient eras. The specialty and the most minute part of his paintings are the very small dots that cover the entire background in most of his artwork, depicting galaxies and the universe. Apart from working as an Artist, Vishendra has been socially active, he has been spreading awareness about various issues in his locality.

Here are a few representations of his art form-

The Couple Puppet

In this busy world where we are leaving behind our culture, this painting reminds us of the era of puppets, when kids were very excited for the puppet shows. This painting conveys many emotions and memories. The background of the painting is filled with very small dot-like structures which enhances the beauty and color of the puppets. The painting is very soothing to a person's eye and takes us to a world full of memories.

The Evil and Truth

These are two different paintings, where in one of them there are three people pulling a rope and in the other one a person is pulling it alone. As the name specifies ‘Evil and Truth’ is depicted through the two paintings, which together justifies a very popular Indian saying, ‘Truth Alone Triumphs’. The artist has used different shapes and textures which makes the painting more alluring. The usage of a variety of colors adds to the beauty and theme of this painting.

How to smile with eye

To derive a positive impact of every situation is a trait which is not common to all. This splendid art of a woman wearing a mask and smiling with her eye, teaches us the lesson of positivity. The artist has used very warm colors, and a very attractive background which commands us to keep our masks on. Lockdown due to the pandemic, brought a situation in our lives where people were grumbling about everything, but as it is said that everything has a positive impact, this painting makes us believe in the same.

Jhansi Ki Rani

This painting by Vishendra is a true representation of his style- Artizan of India. This painting of Rani Laxmibai is made of different geometrical shapes. Laxmi Bai was a  queen of Jhansi, she was one of the first women freedom fighters of India. She is a symbol of power. The artist has justified the character of Laxmibai in his painting. In this painting she is seen carrying a sword in one hand, riding her horse from the other and carrying the baby along on her back.
